Laurel - Beltsville Senior Center

Donor Recognition Glass Sculpture

The neighboring cities of Laurel and Beltsville created an activity center where seniors can gather for creative classes, community events and friendship. Ellenburg + Shaffer created this multi colored ribbon design to celebrate the joy that is part of the everyday life of visitors at the senior center. 5 inch thick fused glass columns were made by layering and hand painting sheets of clear and colored glasses. The custom base is made of welded steel and stainless steel.
