Honoring the Community, Built for a Lifetime of Giving
Lower Cape Fear Hospice – A Timeless Wave of Giving
How do we bring the calming nature of water into the space? That was the question Laurie Taylor, VP of Development for Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, asked when envisioning a donor recognition wall for their facility in Bolivia, North Carolina, a quiet coastal town surrounded by tidal rivers, salt marshes, and the wide expanse of the Cape Fear region. Our glass design was the answer. We created a flowing composition inspired by the natural beauty that defines the area. Deep blues reflect the endless Carolina sky and nearby waters, while shimmering gold evokes the sunlit sands of the coast. Each kiln-formed glass tile is hand-painted, with donor names delicately etched into the surface.
As new gifts arrive, names are added and seamlessly integrated into the free-flowing, wave-like pattern. For over a decade, this wall has been more than a work of art – it has been a source of inspiration and an ongoing catalyst for generosity within the community. The design’s beauty and meaning are timeless, ensuring it will continue to honor donors and encourage giving for years to come.
